Artwork created to highlight a new feature in Adobe Photoshop.
Follow my process step by step.
Simple background sky.
I added some mountains to create depth.
I used the "Multiply" blend mode layer, so it blends perfectly with the background.
I used the "Screen" blend mode on the stars layer.
I shaped the floating island in the stone texture.
I added some small stones and dust to give a feeling of movement.
Giving a strong light movement makes the picture easier to read it also unifies all the objects in the scene.
For the smoke i like to use real shots, that i'm finding in Adobe stock and i'm using smoke brushes to adjust the shape.
